Since 1988, our partners have been on the forefront of whistleblower legislation and involved in a wide number of efforts to raise awareness about whistleblowing.

Education and advocacy are at the core of our firm’s mission. For example, in addition to representing whistleblower clients, founding partner Stephen M. Kohn serves as an adjunct professor and clinical supervisor at the Northeastern School of Law, is the founder and Chairman of the National Whistleblower Center, and is the most published author on whistleblowing.

We firmly believe that individuals considering blowing the whistle need to have access to clear and accurate information about the whistleblowing process so that they can protect themselves and ensure their disclosure has the largest impact possible. We further believe that by educating government officials, business leaders, and the public to the importance of whistleblowers we can help further whistleblower protections and rights in the United States and across the globe.

Our unwavering commitment to educating various audiences reflects our belief in justice for all whistleblowers and the key role they play in exposing fraud, corruption, and wrongdoing.

Some of the educational resources the firm and partners have initiated include:

  • Authoring Books on Whistleblowing – founding partner Stephen Kohn has published seven books on whistleblowing, including the first-ever consumer guide to exposing workplace wrongdoing The Whistleblower Handbook and his latest book, the comprehensive guide Rules for Whistleblowers: A Handbook for Doing What’s Right.
  • Law Library – we’ve created our own legal library with case and court files, curated by the partners of the firm. This Law Library is an online companion resource to the Rules for Whistleblowers book but can also be used without the book for those performing research or case prep.
  • Frequently Asked Questions – the firm continues to produce clear and concise FAQ pages to help distill and disseminate critical whistleblower information to potential whistleblowers. These FAQ’s cover topics ranging from how to qualify and file for rewards and protection, to whistleblowing process and procedure.
  • Thought Leadership – our firm regularly publishes expert analysis on the most pressing whistleblower issues and stands as a credible source for journalists and others in the legal profession. In addition to producing long-form content for the firm’s blog, our attorneys also contribute regularly to Bloomberg, Reuters, Law360, and Whistleblower Network News, among others.
  • Whistleblower Events – our team, in partnership with the National Whistleblower Center and Whistleblower Network News, dedicate countless hours to the planning and hosting of the annual National Whistleblower Day event, which takes place every July 30. The first Congressional celebration of National Whistleblower Day took place in the U.S. Senate Kennedy Caucus Room on July 30th, 2015.
  • Data Assessment – we have compiled recent and historical award data from major regulatory bodies, including the SEC and CFTC, to provide easy access to case information. This includes aggregating order numbers and file numbers, whistleblowers involved, decisions, award order amounts, and press releases corresponding to each award order.
  • Presentations & Seminars – our partners have given numerous U.S. sponsored seminars and presentations related to anti-corruption and international whistleblowing. We have been involved in several roundtable presentations and events, where our expertise is sought to guide regulators, state departments, and other NGO’s.
  • Lawmaking – we continually meet with U.S. and foreign lawmakers to explain the key role whistleblowers play in upholding the integrity of financial markets and society, and in protecting innocent people, and the environment, from harm.
  • Public Interest Internships & Fellowships – we offer an opportunity for interns and fellows to gain invaluable legal experience by working closely with the partners of the firm. These positions introduce students to the practice of public interest law on behalf of clients who risk their careers to expose illegal activities and threats to public health or safety.

Internships & Fellowships

Are you a student looking for a career that combines the pursuit of social justice with high-profile cases? We suggest applying to the Public Interest Internship or the Fellowship. You’ll be given considerable responsibility over cases, participating in all aspects of a case.
