South Dakota has a Medicaid Anti-Fraud Statute, which makes it unlawful to make a false claim to or fraud the state’s Medicaid program. The state does not have a false claims act.

Does South Dakota recognize the public policy exception for wrongful termination?

Yes. South Dakota practices at-will employment, though a public policy exception does exist. An employer may not terminate an employee for a reason that contravenes a well-established public policy.
